Tioga, the American Black Bear is made from dense German Mohair and Alpaca with a wool felt muzzle. He has a double jointed neck, handmade leather nose and hand painted brown glass eyes. Tioga’s claws are handmade of polymer and he has moveable wrist joints and ultrasuede paw pads. He is filled with polyfil and stands 10″ tall and 14″ long when posed on all four legs. Tioga is a member of my “Wildlife Series”.

KERMODE BEAR — GHOST BEAR — WHITE SPIRIT BEAR

This wonderful bear, Ursa Americanus Kermodei, is an otherwise ordinary American black bear that, thanks to a recessive gene, is born with white fur. There is a recessive gene which both parents have to have to make the black bear white. There can be a family with white and black bears at the same time. This bear, named after Frank Kermode, former director of the Royal British Columbia Museum, is a genetic abnormality, but not an albino. Where an albino would have a white or pink nose and light-colored eyes, a Kermode bear has a dark nose and eyes.

In the beautiful rain forests of Princess Royal Island, just off the coast of British Columbia in Canada, the bear population has been isolated for so long that this recessive gene for white fur shows up in large numbers: one out of every ten bears is white. In the past few years the island has become the center of a struggle between conservationists and developers.

Spencer is all Mohair with a great handmade leather nose, glass eyes, painted ultrasuede toes, a double jointed neck, and a handpainted face. He is filled with plastic pellets and shot and measures 9 1/2″ tall.

Shonak is all Mohair with a handmade leather nose, handpainted face, hand-stitched leather footpads, glass eyes with ultrasuede eyelids, handmade claws, and a double jointed neck. She is stuffed with polyfil and plastic pellets and is 16″ long and 10″ tall. Shonak and Weeko are sold seperately. Shonak is a member of my “Wildlife Series”.

Shelby is made from dense, curly Mohair. He has a handpainted face, handmade leather nose, glass eyes, painted ultrasuede foot pads, and a double jointed neck. Shelby is filled with shot and pellets and is 9 1/2″ tall.

PJ Bear is made from brown-tipped Mohair with a handmade leather nose, hand painted face, glass eyes with ultrasuede eyelids, and a double jointed neck. He comes complete with the little Mohair bear he is holding, the nightcap and blanket. He is filled with plastic pellets and shot and is 9 1/2″ tall.

PJ Bear is retired.

Oliver is made from tipped Alpaca and antique style wool. He has a handmade leather nose and ultrasuede paws with sculpted toes. Oliver is polyfilled, has glass eyes, a double jointed neck, and his face is lightly hand painted.

Oliver is retired. He was a limited edition of 9.

Nanuk is a loveable 18″ tall Polar Bear made from dense English Mohair with a feather finish. He has a handmade leather nose, double jointed neck, open ultrasuede mouth, glass eyes, a hand painted face, and handmade polymer claws. His legs are weighted with glass beads and shot for free standing ability and his arms have wire armatures making him very poseable. He can easily stand, crawl or sit.

Nanuk is retired.

Kwai Le is made from extra dense curly and fluffy English Mohair with a feather finish. She has a double jointed neck, handmade leather nose, glass eyes backed by brown and white ultrasuede, and handmade polymer claws. Her open mouth is lined with ultrasuede and outlined in black felt. Her eyes are backed by handsewn mohair eye patches. Kwai Le also has black leather foot pads. Her body is polyfilled while her arms and legs are filled with pellets. She also has a wrist joint that allows for better posing. She stands 11″ tall and is 17″ long from nose to tail.

Kwai Le is retired.

Kiam, the Grizzly Bear is made of tipped Mohair and hand-dyed Alpaca with airbrushed features. He has a double jointed neck, handmade leather nose and hand painted gold glass eyes. Kiam’s claws are handmade of polymer and he has moveable wrist joints and ultrasuede paw pads. He also has wire armatures in his front legs. He is filled with polyfil and stands 11″ tall and 14″ long when posed on all four legs. Kiam is a member of my “Wildlife Series”.

Howard is made of Mohair and Alpaca and has a handpainted face, handmade leather nose, handpainted toes and a double jointed neck. He is filled with polyfil and is 15″ tall.

Elliot is 9″ tall and is made from sparse mohair with a handpainted face, leather nose, and handmade sweater. He has a double jointed neck, stitched claws, and is pellet and shot filled.

Elliot is retired. He was a limited edition of 40.

Cooper is made from Wavy Mohair and has a hand-painted face, handmade leather nose, glass eyes, a double jointed neck, and hand-painted foot pads. He is filled with plastic pellets and shot and is 9 1/2″ tall.

Chinook stands 17″ tall and is made from Golden Tan German Mohair with a dark backing. He has glass eyes, a handmade leather nose, wire armatures in the arms for poseability, a double jointed neck, an open ultrasuede mouth, and handmade polymer claws. His legs are weighted with glass beads and shot so he is free standing. His body is medium to firmly stuffed with polyfil. The two pictures here are of the same bear in different poses. He is able to stand, crawl or sit and is very poseable.

Buckwheat stands 17″ tall and is a very loveable bear made from golden, lustrous, curly German Mohair. He has glass eyes, a handpainted face, handmade leather nose, ultrasuede paw pads, and a double jointed neck. Buckwheat is firmly stuffed with polyfil.

Bluebelle is made from hand-dyed Alpaca and is 9″ tall. She is filled with shot and pellets, has a handmade leather nose, onyx eyes, ultrasuede foot pads and is fully jointed with a double-jointed neck.

Otis is 9″ tall and is made from sparse tan Mohair with a darker backing. He has glass eyes, a handmade leather nose, and ultrasuede foot pads. Otis is pellet-filled and is fully jointed with a double-jointed neck.

Bearnard has the most loveable face. He is made from 1″ pile German mohair that is golden tan with brown tips. His face is handpainted and he has glass eyes, a handmade leather nose and ultrasuede foot pads. He is firmly stuffed with polyfill and stands 15″ tall.
